2008 Olympic Games will come to ceremony 12 days before the the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee (BOCOG) to unveiled the Games' medals.The unique medal begin to be designed on 500-day countdown to the Games.
The athletes will be awarded medals made of metal and jade when they make it to the podium in the 2008 Olympic Games.
The medals are designed with inspiration from "bi" (Note: bi, a flat jade disc with a circular hole in the center), China's ancient jade piece inscribed with dragon pattern. The medals, made of gold and jade, symbolize nobility and virtue and are embodiment of traditional Chinese values of ethics and honor.
