Cloisonne, an ancient metalworking technique, is a multi-step enamel process used to produce jewelry, vases, and other decorative items, and the resulting objects can also be called cloisonne.
Cloisonne first developed in the Near East. It spread to the Byzantine Empire and from there along the Silk Road to China. After a processing breakthrough of cloisonne manufacture technique,in time cloisonne became popular among the common people in China, their favorite cloisonnes called "Jingtai Blue".
Cloisonne manufacture is comprehensive and sophisticated, combining the techniques of making bronze and porcelain ware, as well as those of traditional painting and sculpture, and cloisonne process can be divided into following steps
